About the Tamil Edition

Our translation will rely on the Tamil edition of Kampaṉ’s Rāmāyaṇa published by the U.V.Swaminatha Iyer Library (UVS) between 1951-1967. We will also consult the critical edition published by Annamalai University Press (AUP) between 1955 and 1970. 

Our project will not produce a third edition or seek to resolve differences between the two editions. Instead, we will note variants in text-critical notes.
